I met Carey before her wedding and I really loved working with her then, so when she contacted me recently, and asked I would do her maternity shoot, I jumped at the opportunity! After a week of gorgeous weather .... the morning of our shoot dawned and it was miserable. Cold, cloudy and drizzling. Needless to say we were worried about the shoot and chatted about postponing it. As the day progressed it cleared a bit and made it possible to do the photoshoot but we were not going to have the beautiful soft sunlight we wanted. So even though the weather didn't co-operate, we had the most beautiful maternity shoot. Modderfontein Nature Reserve is a place I love to work at as it is so versatile and pretty. Carey and Arno are just an amazing couple who look so good together and on camera. Here is a peak at their maternity shoot: Congratulations to you both on the arrival of your beautiful little girl, Chloe. Thank you for entrusting me with your precious memories and I hope that you have many more together. Love C XX

Kirsty and Clayton are just an amazing couple and we really enjoyed having them as neighbors, even though it was for a short time. So when they announced that they were expecting a beautiful bundle of joy, we were so happy for them and delighted when they asked us to do their maternity shoot. We spent a really special afternoon with this couple at Rietvlei farm ... the soft light was just perfect and romantic and the setting was so beautiful for the shoot. Kirsty and Clayton had brought some of the decor from Tannith's room and a few props that we had fun incorporating into the photos. Here is a peak at the beautiful maternity shoot we did with this lovely couple: Thank you Kirsty and Clayton for giving us the opportunity to capture this special time in your lives ... we wish you both and Tannith many happy memories together! Rhylan, normally shy around people, really came out of his shell and gave us some really special photographic moments! To Gen and Julius, congratulations on the birth of your baby girl Willow. She is so precious and beutiful just like her mom and dad! I cant wait till you visit JHB again, I am dying to meet her. In November last year, Sherrie and I were asked to join a Fashion shoot with the lovely Crystle from Belle Journee Bridal. We did quite a lot of different outfits, but the one that really fascinated me was the twist wrap shirts. They are pretty amazing as there are so many different things you can do with each one, and it is a must have item in every girls closet! They fit ladies of all sizes, from tiny to pregnant and are a worth while investment! We chose the lovely Lavandou Wedding Venue as the location for the shoot as it has lots of different photo opportunities, and the owners are super helpful and accommodating. I would like to thank the models; Maryke Venter, Olivia Atkins and Genenvieve Watkins, for being so willing to try new things, and for working so hard for us! make-up was done for us by a young Make-up Artist called Angelic, and Belle Journee supplied the outfits. Should you want to purchase a twist wrap shirt or dress (ideal for bridesmaids dresses, please contact Crystle at Belle Journee . So here is a peak of some of the images we captured on the day! My lovely friend Kerusha and her hubby Terence ventured back up to Johannesburg from Durban to visit the people they left behind when they moved. It was lovely to see them again, especially as Kerusha is expecting a baby girl in January. We had a lovely baby shower on the Sunday afternoon with loads of beautiful pressies, and all of us ladies were ooohing and aaaahhing over the tiny clothes and adorable shoes. Although I don't normally do things like kiddies, family and baby bump shoots, I really couldn't resist asking them if I could do a mini shoot for them. Both Kerusha and Terence are very camera shy, and with a tight time line before they drove back to Durban, we did quick 15 min baby bump shoot in her friends garden. At first they were both nervous but we quickly got over that and had a great time! To Kerusha and Terence - you are both such amazing people, and I am so privileged to know you! I love you guys and wish you loads of happiness and love and I can't wait to meet your beautiful daughter! Here is what Kerusha had to say about the mini shoot: Thank you my amazingly talented friend for taking the pics for us. I don't think we ever had such good pictures; not even our wedding pics! I'm glad you captured this special time for us and also I'm grateful it was you. We are both not photogenic people but somehow you made us look as happy as we feel. You made us feel at ease which is hard to do when a camera is aimed at us and I can't believe how good you are at what you do. Scratch that; I totally can. You are an amazing photographer!! Love you lots. And thank you hugely!! |
AuthorQuirky and often described as rather eccentric, I am a lover of all things beautiful. Capturing special moments and making my clients look and feel beautiful is what makes me happy! Archives
