What happens when a beautiful girl falls and gets injured on top of a koppie and a young man helps her to the hospital? True love! Thats how Chane "fell" for Japie and their love story started.
Having met Chane at an expo, we already had spoken a lot but it was our first time meeting Japie at the Pretoria Botanical Gardens for their E-shoot. He was really nervous, and like most men, not a fan of being on camera. He started relaxing and getting into it especially as he got to kiss his bride to be a lot!
Its hard not to love these two ... they are so down to earth, and so genuine and we enjoyed every minute we spent with them.
Here is a peak at the gorgeous Chane & Japie's Couple Shoot:
Chane and Japie, it was an honour to be part of your big day, I wish you many more years of love and happiness!
Kirsty and Clayton are just an amazing couple and we really enjoyed having them as neighbors, even though it was for a short time. So when they announced that they were expecting a beautiful bundle of joy, we were so happy for them and delighted when they asked us to do their maternity shoot.
We spent a really special afternoon with this couple at Rietvlei farm ... the soft light was just perfect and romantic and the setting was so beautiful for the shoot. Kirsty and Clayton had brought some of the decor from Tannith's room and a few props that we had fun incorporating into the photos.
Here is a peak at the beautiful maternity shoot we did with this lovely couple:
Thank you Kirsty and Clayton for giving us the opportunity to capture this special time in your lives ... we wish you both and Tannith many happy memories together!
Life has a funny way of bringing certain people into your life .... the ones that make profound differences and often its when you really need them that they are suddenly there.
This is how Desiree and I met, she came to me for a shoot and we before we had finished it we were firm friends. So when she messaged me and asked for a really fun and relaxed family shoot, how could I refuse?
We met early one morning at Horwoods Farm, and it didnt start too well as little Christopher was a bit grumpy and not in the mood for photos. We ended up playing more than working, and it was then that little Christopher gave us the gorgeous smiles we were looking for!

We just love the relaxed feel of this shoot ... it fits so well with this family! Thank you to Desiree and Brian for trusting me to capture these special moments
Last year I got to meet the cutest puppy, Dixie and her beautiful mom Madaleen. The bond between these two is the most beautiful thing ever and it was so awesome to do a photo-shoot with them.
We met in PTA on a wet and miserable morning in the park by Madaleens work. It was really pretty but much to Dixie's delight, there were loads of muddy puddles and a lot of birds to chase. This energetic little Schnauzer had us running up and down the park trying to get some nice photos, and thank goodness Madaleen brought a towel to dry her as she ended up really wet and muddy!
Thank you to Madaleen and Dixie for entrusting me with your memories, I really loved photographing this gorgeous little furbaby! Here is a peak at the beautiful shoot I did for them
Venue: The Boardwalk, Faerie Glen
Furbaby: Dixie, the cutest Miniature Schnauzer
Loving Mom: Madaleen
Sally and her mom were both diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the same time, and while going through treatment, her dad looked after them both. For those who know what it is like having a loved one going through Chemo, you will understand how much of a strain it put on Mr Roberts, but he loved his ladies so much he sacrificed a lot to help them.
It was also during this time that Sally met Noel, the love of her life, and he also helped these beautiful women deal with the many treatments and Doctors appointments they needed to go to.
Sadly Sally passed away late last year, but before she did she embraced life. She traveled, did things she had always wanted to do and really loved every minute. This post may seem sad, but to me its not. Its a loving memory of a beautiful lady who touched my life in a big way in the short time that I knew her. Its a celebration of her life, and her beautiful family who I admire, respect and love a lot.
Here is a peak at a few of the fun photos we did of this amazing family ...
In loving memory of Sally Roberts, a beautiful woman in every way, your story touched many lives in such a good way. Gone but not forgotten.
BL Medical is a company that works closely with Buddies for Life and the Breast Health Foundation assisting pre and post-op patients with prosthetic bra inserts, and strapping to help with the healing process. Its through the team at Buddies for Life that I met the BL Medical Team and they needed a few photographs of their TUANSE range of wrist, knee and ankle braces.
As these products are usually used for sports injuries and help athletes resume sports, we decided to use a lovely young Netball player as our model. Designed with high quality elastic, this range is not only very supportive of injury, but flexible too, and we had loads of fun on the netball courts showing off the strapping.
This was certainly a very different type of product shoot for me, but it was really fun working with the team. Here is a peak at a few of our images from their shoot.

Zelna and Hennie are such a special couple to me ... full of life and fun, it was a wonderful experience working with them! They are so much in love, and it comes through so strongly on camera.
Their wedding was set to be a very relaxed and vintage affair, and as they love South Africa and all its history we decided the best setting for their engagement shoot was Reefsteamers. This is one place that I love to work at, there are so many awesome places to photograph, and we walked around admiring the hard work that goes into the restoration of the beautiful old ladies.
As Hennie is also an avid photographer, he took great pleasure in comparing his Canon to my Nikon, and the afternoon was filled with loads of laughs and jokes. Adding to his delight, I pulled out my vintage Canon Film Camera and the two had a few funny selfie moments, and pretended that they were doing their own photoshoot.
This memorable afternoon ended with a spectacular Johannesburg sunset, and then we sat with the Reefsteamers team and waited for Susan, the oldest steam train in the yard to return from her Cullinan trip.
Thank you to the Reefsteamers team who allowed us to use the facility and for being so amazing with your historical knowledge. Thank you also to Makeup by Shandre for Zelna's stunning makeup, and lastly to my tireless assistant Michael for all of the help on the day.
Hennie and Zelna you are both fabulous, and I really wish you all of the happiness in the world as you deserve it. May your love grow and continue to blossom for many years to come!

The gorgeous Leigh Ann was the second lady who modeled the fabulous Kiniconfidence range for us. This beauty looks so amazing in the bespoke range of bikinis created by this talented team of ladies. Her stunning figure and elegant look worked perfectly with the custom range of swimwear.
If you are wondering who Kiniconfidence are, well they are a family run business, started by my good friend and Makeup Artist, Shandre, her mom Ann and sister Angelique. Together they have created the most amazing and beautiful range of bespoke swimwear, each piece is unique. From the hand beading to the vibrant colours and mix and match options, you are sure to find the most amazing beach wear to suit your personal style.
Kiniconfidence have also expanded their range, offering bath and body lotion products (which I use) as well as accessories like body chains that are to die for! Later this year they will also be releasing their own lip product range, so this is a definite must visit company for all ladies!
I have to say a huge thank you to the stunning team at Kiniconfidence for asking me to work with them. To Leigh Ann, you are beautiful in every way and I would love to work with you again!
Kiniconfidence is a family owned business, and is run by the most awesome group of ladies. Shandre, who works with me at femme fatale boudoir as one of my makeup artists, created this bespoke and beautiful line of beach wear with her mom and sister. A while ago they asked if I could photograph a few of their pieces in their range for them.
Of course I jumped at the chance to help them, as this range is just gorgeous. What I love about their bikini's, is that each piece is unique. They hand make each one and add details like beading which makes them stand out from the rest. The other thing I love, is how you can mix and match throughout their catalog to create a look perfect for you. From high waisted, to tanga and boy legs, there is a huge range of different bottoms to suit your needs. I also fell in love with their sarongs and wraps and was delighted when they gave me one to say thank you for the awesome day we had shooting.
Angelique, our stunning model, is Shandre's sister and part of the design team, and she opted to be in front of the camera to show off the gorgeous outfits. Shandre did her beautiful hair and makeup, while Ann (their mom) did the wardrobe styling and assisted with the shoot. The camera just loves Angelique, and shes wonderful to work with. Not only is she beautiful, but she is a lovely young lady who I would love to work with again!
I would like to thank the ladies at Kiniconfidence for giving me the opportunity to work with them. Their range is amazing, so if you are looking for something unique, they are a definite must visit!
Samantha and Francois wedding day had finally arrived after months of planning, and there was a lot of excitement in the air mixed with a few nerves. Their fabulous wedding which was both elegant and romantic was at Destiny Lodge, a beautiful wedding venue in Cullinan.
When we arrived at the venue, there was a flurry of last minute preparation being done by Sam's mom and grandmothers, who were the ladies responsible for the fabulous decor and flowers. The decor was a mix of silvers and whites with a hint of purple, which gave the reception a very chic and elegant look. The ever thoughtful Sam and Francois had made sure that the children had special packs that were packed full of cookies and sweets, while the adults had the most delicious chocolates as their thank you's.
The couple had gotten each other special wedding gifts for the day, and we were the lucky ones who got to deliver them. So we got some beautiful photographs of the Francois opening the boudoir album Sam had done for him, and of Sam unwrapping the stunning Thomas Sabo bracelet Francois had bought for her.
The ladies started to prepare for the main event by getting their makeup and hair done, while the men celebrated with a glass of champagne and cigars with Lee-Anne (my second photographer for ther day) and had a few photos taken. And then it was time, Sam looked magnificent in her gown, and was proudly walked down the aisle by her dad and gorgeous son Calvin. A short but beautiful ceremony later, Sam and Francois were finally husband and wife.
We had the perfect soft romantic light for their couple shoot, and these two look amazing on camera and their love really shines through. The reception started with a few speeches before Destiny Lodge served a delicous dinner. The highlight of the day for most, was when Calvin stood up and gave a speech welcoming Francois into his family and referred to him as Dad. He had the whole wedding party reaching for tissues when he said that he is glad Francois is part of his Mom's life, as when his Mom is happy, the hidings hurt less.
This was a beautiful and very memorable wedding, and I would like to thank Lee-Anne for working with me and helping to record the memories for this fabulous couple. Sam and Francois would also like to thank all of the awesome suppliers (listed below) that helped them plan and pull off this elegant wedding.
Lastly, I would like to thank Sam and Fafa for choosing me to be part of your wedding day. From the chats, to the frantic stressed out messages, I wouldn't change a single thing. Working with you was an absolute pleasure, and I wish you both a very happy future together. I hope that you are blessed soon with the twin baby girls you are trying for.
Quirky and often described as rather eccentric, I am a lover of all things beautiful. Capturing special moments and making my clients look and feel beautiful is what makes me happy!
